When a master holds a material in his hands—be it stone, wax, or wool—it begins to find its form, playing with proportions and the illusion of layering.
Like a sculptor, he meticulously carved the collar and lapels in the dense wool, giving them fluid, timeless lines—neither too narrow nor too wide, neither sharp nor overly soft.
They had to be harmonious and noble. For without them, nothing else would truly matter.
Inspired by the golden ratio, he set out to mold the lines of the feminine figure.
Guided by a curved ruler, he sought to create an hourglass effect, where every contour offers the illusion of a slender waist.
He merged the sleeves with the body into a single whole, carefully seeking fluidity in the silhouette.
Upon the shoulders, he made a decisive architectural cut — altering the coat’s entire gravity.
This curve across the shoulder blades freed the heavy wool — it no longer weighs upon the wearer.
The cut divided the coat into two layers — a solid foundation and a light 'jacket' floating above.
Having finished his work and setting aside his chisel, the master stepped back...
He felt the tension dissolve.
The heavy wool had yielded to his hand, no longer resisting the form.
And the form could no longer imagine itself without its support.
The master looked at his work — some things are not taught, but felt.
